How to Make a Daisy Chain

There are a few ways you can make a daisy chain, one which involves braiding. I'm going to tell you the easiest way.

First you have to pick the flowers and they don't HAVE to be daisies. Dandelions and black-eyed Susans work too. Today we used evening primroses and desert chicory (Texas Dandelion or False Dandelion) because it was all we could find over by the movie theater. They weren't the best because they wilted pretty quickly and the stems were pretty thin. Try to get long, stiff stems so you have more to work with. You may have to strip off some leaves and unopened buds.

Step 1: If you want the flowers close together, make a hole near the top. If you want them further apart, make a hole near the bottom but not too far down because it might split. Fingernails work well for slicing holes but exacto knives work better. Those are only for adults though, not babies. If it does split down all the way, cut off the split end and try again up higher on the stem.

Step 2: Poke the next flower up to its neck through the hole you just made then make a hole in that one too.

Step 3: When you have the chain as long as you want it for a bracelet, necklace, crown or whatever you like, make another hole in the first flower, higher than the first if possible, and poke the last stem through it to finish the circle.

Step 4: Look cute wearing your creation.
