Aluminum Foil VS Parchment Paper

Whenever you use a cookie sheet/baking pan to cook or bake on you should ALWAYS line it with either aluminum foil or parchment paper. If you don't, you or someone else will have to scrub that pan. This is a tough habit to get into if you're not the one who usually has to scrub the pan.

I usually use parchment paper for everything now and not foil. Foil is good for keeping things hot and cocooned, but a lot of foods stick to it and make it rip, especially cheese. Even if you're making something that you don't think will ooze and get all over the pan like baked potatoes, you should use parchment paper. It's better to be safe than have to scrub that pan. If you crumple it up first it will lie down better and not roll back up.

Typically we use parchment paper indoors in the oven and foil outdoors on the grill or in the smoker.

I think I would be good at scrubbing pans. But I don't want to.

Getting closer!
