Laura Ingalls Wilder

Laura Ingalls Wilder is the main character in the Little House on the Prairie books. She is also the author. They are real stories of her life and family written as fiction. Her daughter Rose helped her write them. In the 1970's there was a TV show based on her books.

The books take place in the 1800's in Wisconsin, Kansas, Minnesota and South Dakota.

There are 9 books in the series:

Little House in the Big Woods

Farmer Boy (about Laura's husband's childhood)

Little House on the Prairie

On the Banks of Plum Creek (my favorite when I was little)

By the Shores of Silver Lake

The Long Winter

Little Town on the Prairie

These Happy Golden Years

The First Four Years

Laura became a third-grade teacher (just like your mommy) when she was 16. She got married in 1885 when she was 18 and stopped teaching. Even though she wrote some articles for a magazine she didn't start writing the books until they needed money because of the stock market crash in 1929. She had been writing down some memories to preserve them and then turned them into books for elementary-age kids. The first one, Little House in the Big Woods was published in 1932 when Laura was 65. It's never too late to start something new.

Hi! My name is Juniper and I like to pee on my clothes while my diaper is off.
The lucky part is that I got to wear my new-to-me Wisconsin shirt from Uncle Eric and Wisconsin is where Laura was born.
